Career
As a child Kyoko learned to play the piano and flute very quickly and participated in many singing contests like the 'Pure Holy' contest, where she performed Tonomi Kaharas song 'I'm proud' at age 13.
In 1996, when she attended 2nd grade at Junior High School and graduated with 14, she was nominated for the 21. 'Talent Scout Caravan' prize which she also won. She was a big fan of japanese singer 'Tomoni Kahara' and wanted to becoma a singer herself.
In april 1997, she had her breakthrough with a small role in the TV series 'Five'. She got this role with the help of her talent scouts.
In 1998, Kyoko rose to idol status, because of the "Horipro Idol Paradise" Project, which created so-called idol groups to support the talent of young women. In the same year, she got her first big role in a tv-drama named "Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake". This serial had a huge success and kyoko got the award for best supporting actress at the 21th Television Drama Academy Awards. From Oktober 1998 till March 2002, the "Kyoko Fukada IN MY ROOM" radio programme was aired.
In January 1999 Kyoko finally got her first main role in the tv-drama "Oni no sumika".
In July 1999 she was in a serial named "To Heart", which were really successful and got her the award for the best supporting actress at the 22th "Television Drama Academy Awards" again.
In 1999 she also made her debut as a singer with her first single "Saigo no Kajitsu". After that her album "Dear" was released, on which she plays on the piano as a solo artist.
2000 she had her first lead role in the movie"Shisho no Gakuensai" (School Day of the Dead), in which she appeared with the piano.
She also published the 3rd Single "Kirameki No. Shunkan", which became the title song for the TV drama "Imagine" in which she also acted.
In the same year appeared her first Album "Moon".
The Drama Special "Friends" 2002 was the first TV series in which Japan collaborated with Korea. Kyoko played the main role with the Korean Won Bin in it. In the same year, Kyoko played a role in the from Takeshi Kitano directed movie "Dolls", in which she plays the idol star Haruna Yamaguchi, which is the main role of a mini story in the movie.
2003 Kyoko weared Kimonos from the summer collection "The Paris Collection" by designer Yumi Katsura.
2004 she played the main role in "Kamikaze Girls" as Gothic Lolita Momoko. Among the many prizes for the successful
Movie, Kyoko won the 27th "Yokohama Movie Award" for best leading role and the 28th "Japan Academy Prize" for the excellent performance.
2005 Kyoko played the leading role in the successful TV series "Fugoh Keiji". The Dorama was directed by Yasutaka Tsutsui , who was also responsible for the Drama "Imagine". A year later, the series was continued with "Fugoh Keiji Deluxe" under the direction by Nagae Toshikazu. In the film of 2006 "The Inugamis" Kyoko plays a supporting role, direction was lead by Kon Ichikawa, the film is a remake of the 1976 published "The Inugami Family".
